Movement onward..

Ten.
series of my originally Michelangelo inspired photography. (including some manipulation)










Inspired.

Nine.

a series of life drawing sessions (pictures to follow) Led me to looking at the workings from artists such as Botticelli and Michelangelo, who were indeed grand masters of capturing the human form in the most incredible way. I went from celebrating their works with my own version of Michelangelo's creation of Adam in oils, to my own series of photography of which i plan to work with for the next free weeks. This, of which, will hopefully incorporate an essence of Greek gods/goddess'/mythology, as I would like to play around with the idea of surrealist abnormal stage.


Kathe Kollwitz

Eight.

... and all of this maccabre feeling lead me to looking at the workings of Kathe Kollwitz, of whom i am going follow with some similarly staged graphite/pencil drawings and black/white paintings. Focusing on contrasts between light and dark, and methaphorical meanings in the works.

Freedom?

Charles Anastase.

Six.
I found the work of Anastase incredibly clever and interesting. Something in which i hope to revisit in some of my later work.

The start of something new...

Five.

I turned to begin working in a controversial topic of which i took interest in. The topics surrounding amnesty international causes, particularly slavery and captured hostages, was something which i felt i could manipulate into my work easily to portray emotion. Freedom, was a word which sprang to mind when i began thinking of ideas, and it is the word in which the rest of my work for this project unravelled...

Natural Forms Project

And so the work began on creating a surrealist composition. As mention before , I only worked in black and white block paints and then adding tiny bits of acyrlic paints to enhance parts. I later found that by adding a wash of brusho inks gave my work a the underwater feel that I wanted to gain...
